Mrs. Wilhelmenia Haggwood, 86, transitioned from this earthly life on June 7, 2024. A service in loving memory celebrating her life will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at The kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 1330 Ridgewood Dr. Orangeburg. Interment will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Haggwood will lie in repose one hour prior to service at the Kingdom Hall. Public viewing/visitation will be held on Friday June 14, 2024 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at Al Jenkins Funeral Home of Orangeburg. The family will be accepting visitors at the residence of her son 246 Sweetwater Rd. St. Matthews, SC 29135 from 3:00 to 9:00 PM daily. Email condolences may be sent to: aljenkinsfuneralhome.com Mrs. Wilhelmenia Haggwood, affectionately known to family and friends as “Gudy” was born on February 9, 1938 to the late Mr. Bennie and Mrs. Marie Keitt Jones. She was called from her Earthly Service to Eternal Rest on Friday, June 7, 2024. Mrs. Haggwood received her formative education in the South Carolina Public School System of Orangeburg County. She began her earthly journey of service and worship at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Union Chapel Baptist Church and for the last 50 years at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Mrs. Haggwood was an avid gardener sharing the bounty she reaped from the earth with family and friends. She knew that as she was blessed, she enjoyed sharing her blessings with a grateful heart and spirit. Mrs. Haggwood, in addition to her parents, was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph Haggwood, Sr. and her beloved son, Jesse James Haggwood. Mrs. Haggwood leaves a legacy of treasured memories to children, Willie G. Haggwood of Orangeburg, SC, JoAnn Haggwood of Columbia, SC, Joseph (Trudy) Haggwood, Jr. of Seneca, SC, James (Lynn) Haggwood of St. Matthews, SC, William (Quantina) Haggwood of Columbia, SC; a host of loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Glover J. Glover of Orangeburg, SC and Martha Roulhac of Jacksonville, FL; and a number of other loving family and friends.
