Geneva Blacks

July 30, 1933 - June 1, 2022

Deaconess Geneva Scott “Sister” Blacks the daughter of the late James Scott and Elnora Shuler Scott was born on July 30, 1933 in Cameron, South Carolina. On June 1, 2022 at the age of 88, she silently left with God’s Angles to the land free from sickness and pain. She has gone home to live with God. Geneva was gainfully employed working various jobs in New York, New Jersey and South Carolina. Her work in New York and New Jersey was in the garment manufacturing district and home products. She was dedicated and enjoyed seeing the final products she skillfully created. After relocating to South Carolina, she found employment with the Orangeburg County Public School System in the area of general building maintenance. Her work allowed her to interact with teachers and students. Geneva was a multifaceted individual who enjoyed various hobbies and personal past times. She truly enjoyed gardening and seeing the beautiful colors that adorned her yard. Watching television was a favorite part of her day. She attended church faithfully and spent many loving hours with her children. Geneva, in addition to her parents, was preceded in death by her loving husband, Deacon Wilbur “Bill” Lee Blacks. Geneva leaves to cherish her loving memories; four daughters, MaeBell Blacks of Orangeburg, SC, Alice Sams of Passaic, NJ, Joyce Edmonds of Orangeburg, SC and Mary Deas of Charleston, SC; two sons, Wilbert (Ola) Randolph of Philadelphia, PA, and Nathaniel Dash of Oak Grove, KY; devoted grandson, Kajuan Blacks; granddaughters, May Rhodes, Geneva Crayton and Reeshemah Sams all of Passaic, NJ; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family and friends. Very special gratitude and appreciation is extended to all of her care givers and nurses. During the visitation and service we ask that everyone please adhere to the COVID-19 rules and guidelines.
