Annie Miller

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mrs. Annie B. Miller. She left us on July 16, 2024, after a brief illness, while under the care of MUSC Medical Center in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Born in Orangeburg on January 11, 1946, Annie was a devoted member of the local community. Her faith played a central role in her life. She was educated at the Bull Swamp Baptist Church School, which furthered her dedication to serving her community through faith. Annie served the Brown Chapel AME Church in Elloree, S.C., faithfully. Her contributions to the Deaconess Board spanned many years and were significant. Her dedication and service were an inspiration to all who knew her. Professionally, Annie was a respected employee of the Dash Cab Company. Her commitment to her work was admired by her colleagues and appreciated by the many people she served in her role there. Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Janie Mae Dash Franklin and Herman Franklin Sr., her husband Mr. Therlo Miller Sr., her brother Leroy Franklin, her stepson Therlo Miller Jr., and her stepmother Rose Haigler Franklin along with her nephew Shannon Haigler. She leaves behind her stepchild, LaShana Miller Johnson, and a large, loving family including her five brothers and two sisters, Herman Franklin Jr., Edward (Debroah) Franklin Sr., Carl (Vivian) Franklin, Allen Franklin, Norma (Thomas) Stroman, and Dorothy Haigler will miss her dearly, as will her special sister and best friend, Blanche Higgett. Her Sisters-In-Law, Barbara Miller Wright and Sharon Miller Jamison, also survive her. She was a beloved aunt to Anthony (Catherine) Franklin, Roseline (Andray) Walker Davis, Edward E. Franklin Jr., Andrina Franklin Tribble, Lichelle Franklin, Michael (Ashley) Franklin, Melissa Smith, Bradley Franklin, Ashley Franklin, Courtney Franklin, Laureal (Rickey) Franklin Anderson, Leslial Franklin, and Ryan Franklin. Annie was also a cherished godmother to Gail Esau, Gloria Kennedy, Sharon Felder, Jacqueline Higgettt, Kevin Higgett, Jocelyn "Lyn" Johnson, and Todd Higgett. A viewing will be held at Al Jenkins Funeral Home, located at 2396 Russell St., Orangeburg, S.C. 29115, on July 27, 2024, between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will follow on July 28, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Brown Chapel AME Church, 195 Browns Chapel Rd., Elloree, S.C. 29047.
