Victor C. Washington

Victor Carl Washington known to many as “Grover”, born on the 12th of June 1961, in Orangeburg, SC, passed away on the 23rd of July 2023. Victor graduated from Orangeburg Wilkinson High School in 1979. He went on to receive a trade certification in Plumbing and Brick Masonry. A cherished brother and a beloved son, Victor spent his final years residing in Richmond, Virginia, serving his local community in the restaurant industry as a dedicated cook with Goodrich Gourmet Catering Company until he became ill. He decided to leave Charlotte, North Carolina after more than twenty-five years to move to Richmond, Virginia, where he shared with his family how happy he was to be living there. Victor was a charismatic spirit, an adventurous soul who was never afraid to take on new challenges. He had a zest for life that was infectious, his smile lighting up every room he entered. His resilience shone through in his work, always willing to go the extra mile and never one to give up, no matter how hard the task. Victor was also known for his witty humor, his ability to make people laugh and lighten any mood was one of his many charming qualities. Above all, Victor held his family close to his heart, especially Vincent, Tocha, and Tyshure. His love for them was profound and unwavering. His brother Vincent and his two sisters, Vernessa and Valonda, survives him, continuing to keep his memory alive. Victor enjoyed watching his favorite NFL Team the” Dallas Cowboys” and talking to his friends via social media and telephone. He became dedicated to the Lord as a man of deep faith, and in the words of Matthew 5:4, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” His faith was his guiding light, the compass that directed his path. His spiritual beliefs were at the core of his being, influencing his strength, his hope, and his strong faith through his illness. As we honor his life, we also celebrate the love and joy he brought to us all. His adventurous spirit, charismatic presence, resilient strength, and witty humor will forever be remembered and cherished. Victor, in addition to his parents was preceded in death by brothers, Valone Washington and Vernon Washington. Victor leaves precious memories to be cherished to his siblings; Vernessa Broddie of Bowie, Maryland, Valonda Washington of Washington, DC and Vincent (Tocha) Washington of Cope, South Carolina; uncle Willie (Eloise) Dash of Baltimore, Maryland; aunt Deborah (Leon) Bradley of Atlanta, Georgia; niece Marchelle Brodie; nephews, Markus Broddie and Tyshuar Washington; and a host of cousins, other loving family and cherished friends.
